Understanding My Role
Couple of years ago my daughter had asked me “What do you do”. I gave her a lengthy explanation. My ten year old daughter said “OK” and ran away. I kept looking for twinkle in her eyes for a validation for my answer. My wife gave a teasing smile.
It’s an overcast morning of August 2024. “Hey I saw Atos on TV!” said my friend Nishant excitedly when I crossed him during the morning walk. “Powered by Atos” he continued. “I was watching Olympics last night and I saw Atos several places”. I responded with a big smile “Yes, we are the IT partner of Olympics”.
The same day my daughter comes running and excitedly says “I saw Neeraj Chopra wearing the same colors on his ID ribbon around his neck which you wear to office!”. She then says “It had Atos written on it”. The smile got bigger with excitement “You also work for Atos na!”
Why I am telling you this is sometimes we don’t need to explain. The actions explain what you stand for. The images you associate with, speak for you in a way. Olympics stands for a sense of Pride, love for country, unity of nations, pursuit of excellence, skill, courage, ambition, commitment, Integrity. That’s also what Atos started standing for, in her eyes. What we work for. What I work. She had the twinkle in her eyes this time. In the excited moments of my daughter, she got the response to the question she had asked me couple of years ago.
